Go with the flow – InfoSys Radio offers you more

BBM Analytics is pleased to announce that we’ll be adding additional analysis insight to InfoSys Radio with the flow module.  Using this module you’ll be able to track the habits of your listeners by hour or even by minute.  Lining this up with your schedule, you’ll be able to get a sense of what’s making your listeners stay – and what’s making them leave.  In addition, you’ll be able to get a look at where they’re going when they switch: whether they’re going to another station, or just turning the radio off altogether. 

The flow module will show tuning between stations, but that’s only one aspect of what’s going on.  In a PPM world, it not only shows what stations they switch between, it also shows people switching radios off and on, or moving in and out of the reach of a signal. 

So when you’re looking at the results, it’s important to think about the PPM methodology and the impact it has on data and what is considered as ‘flow’.

How Do I Get the New Flow Module?

If you’re a current InfoSys Radio subscriber, there is no additional charge for the module and you’ll automatically get access.  When you download and install data for the next InfoSys Radio release on March 11^th, the module will be there for you.

Another email will be sent out prior to the release that will include a quick guide document that will walk you through how to use the Flow analysis module.

Access to Montreal PPM radio data

BBM Canada just released this to its members:

"BBM Canada has agreed to allow all BBM members who are committed to subscribing to the 2009-10 PPM service to access current Montreal meter data (including historical data back to the panel’s commercialization).  In order to gain access to this data, Broadcaster members in meter markets or those that purchase meter spill must sign a Radio PPM Member Service Agreement.  Agency, Advertiser, Associate or Station Rep members must sign a letter of commitment, indicating their intention to subscribe to the PPM service in September 2009.

If you wish to begin accessing the Montreal PPM data, please forward a request to your BBM Member Services Executive."

BBM Canada releases TV meter and radio databooks

Be still, beating hearts!

BBM Canada has released their TV meter and radio databooks, and they're available on their secure website in the (rather military-sounding) 'General Publications' folder.  According to BBM Canada's announcement, the databooks "provide a graphic overview of television viewing and radio listening", so they may only be suitable for viewing past 9.00 pm.

Presentation from RMB PPM Symposium

The RMB-hosted PPM Symposium was held last Thursday, and BBM Analytics was happy to have been part of it.  There was lots of interesting information, and - more importantly - a lot of interesting discussion.
